Jemima, Thyme and Spike
Back in July 2016 I was commissioned to photograph this enchanting young lady, Jemima who is 16 and had 2 ponies, Thyme (13.3hh) and Spike (30″ high).
She was ready to move on to horses and wanted a record of her happy 4 years with Thyme/Spike and asked for a photoshoot for her birthday (just before GCSE’s).
I had great fun photographing the three of them together and then separately. An extra bonus that Jemima brought to the photo shoot was that she can ride side saddle, and very well! Although we had a scorcher of a day in July, Jemima adorned her side saddle habit. We shot this set of images rather swiftly so she wouldn’t melt.
Another add into this shoot was having Jemima’s parents wonderful garden to use as a backdrop and location. Although we suggested to Spike and Thyme that they tread carefully, especially around the herb garden, which they both stood in beautifully.
We included the outside bar used for Jemima’s parent’s wedding anniversary into a set of shots as well to create a really personal vibe.
My favourite images within this set have to be the stable shots of Jemima with her 2 best friends.
I hope both ponies are getting on very well and are being enjoyed as much as Jemima has and I hope you, Jemima, are continuing to progress with your new horse.
