Ollie and his 6 models

Early last year I decided I wanted to know a bit more about Polo, the game, the ponies and the players.

After doing some research and chatting to experts I connected with one of Britains Top Polo Players – Ollie Cudmore.

Son of Robert Cudmore, an ex-Australian, highly respected polo player. Ollie has lifted the Polo Crown and so far has made his father, and his team extremely proud.

I wanted to collaborate with Ollie and his girlfriend, the beautiful Posy for an informal lifestyle equine photo shoot. Ollie has been photographed 1000’s of times, but this is something different. No ridden shots, no playing shots – just lifestyle of him with his four legged partners relaxing and being with each other.

Being able to show Ollie’s calm and relaxed personality with his horses feels rather special.

We spent a fun couple of hours together, Ollie commented that he thought the shoot maybe cringy or frustrating with trying to get the horses in to poses. However, the way I work is based on the personality of the horse. I allow the horse to place themselves where they feel confident, safe and settled and then work the client, pose and back drop to harmonise.

For example, this wasn’t what I originally had in mind when I ask Ollie to take Tsunami in front of the stunning black doors, but as she swung around she stood so tall but still connected with him.
